Our Porterhouse Steaks with Herb Butter are infused with flavors that rival your favorite steakhouse. The undisputed king of steaks, the porterhouse serves up two steak experiences in one delicious steak. Butter-tender filet mignon is complemented by a rich strip steak with sumptuous flavor and tender meat. Melt a thick slice of parsley and chive herb butter on top of these sizzling steaks for an impressive finish with just a few simple ingredients.

Ingredients

  • PORTERHOUSE STEAK
  • 2 (20-24 ounce) porterhouse steaks
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • DRY RUB
  • 2 tablespoons kosher salt or coarse sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon coarse ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons granulated garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne powder
  • HERB BUTTER
  • 1/2 cup salted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 teaspoons chopped chives
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Directions

  • 1. Preheat your grill to 500°F.
  • 2. Brush steaks on both sides with olive oil.
  • 3. Combine salt, pepper, garlic and cayenne powder in a small bowl. Season steaks on both sides with the spice blend.
  • 4. In a large bowl, combine butter, parsley, chives, thyme, lemon zest and pepper. Transfer mixture to a sheet of parchment paper. Form into a log, roll it up in the parchment paper and twist the ends. Place in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes.
  • 5. Place steaks onto hot grill grates and cook to desired doneness, approximately 4 to 8 minutes per side.
  • 6. Remove from the grill and top each steak with a slice of herb butter. Let rest at room temperature for 8 minutes before serving.
