Grilled Apple Crumble Dessert Recipe

This grilled apple crumble recipe is probably one of our favorite grilled dessert recipes. It’s simple and it incorporates the flavors from America’s apple pie.

With every bite, your mouth is filled with warm apples topped with sweet brown sugar crumble. Chef Timothy Grandinetti‘s recipe will remind your of mom’s apple pie… If mom’s pie wasn’t so great, then think of grandma’s apple pie.


  • 12 apples, peeled, cored and seeded
  • 12 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 ½ cup flour
  • 2 tbsp. cinnamon
  • 12 tbsp. cold butter, cut into pieces
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • ⅔ cup brown sugar


  • Preheat Saber® grill to medium
  • Combine apples and white sugar into a mixing bowl and toss; reserve
  • Combine flour and cinnamon
  • Add butter pieces and using two forks or your fingers, mix together until the they are the size of small peas
  • Place sugared apples in a cast iron skillet
  • Pour lemon juice over the top of the sugared apples
  • Pour the flour and butter mixture over the top
  • Sprinkle with ⅔ cup brown sugar
  • Place in grill and close lid – cook for 40-45 minutes
