Thanksgiving is almost here and for some it’s the BEST holiday of the year! I mean…family, fun and all.that.food! No need to fight over who gets the turkey legs this year! Make a handful of Grilled Apple Cider Turkey Legs and let everyone who wants one have their own!
While all the prep and cooking activity is going down for Thanksgiving in your kitchen. Don’t forget your grill! My grill is almost always a part of my holiday cooking, no matter what the weather! I’ve even used it to make a smoky cranberry sauce and sauté pierogi for our traditional Polish Christmas Eve dinner (Wigilia). The SABER EZ Stainless Steel Griddle is perfect for sautéing pierogi!
This Apple Cider Glaze is easy to make and lends a festive flavor to a traditional turkey, turkey legs, thighs or breast. It’s delicious on grilled chicken too! Simply combine the glaze ingredients in a small pot and reduce them on your side burner or stove. You can make the glaze in advance as well.
When you are ready to cook the Apple Cider Glazed Turkey Legs, coat them with your prepared spice rub, let them come to almost room temp (30 minutes) and grill them up! As they get close to finishing up baste them a few times with the glaze and there you have it! Apple Cider Glazed Turkey Legs for all!
Besides enjoying these turkey legs on Thanksgiving, they make a great tailgating food or fall/winter food! Do you KNOW how many turkey legs Disney sells at their park?? They are pretty yummy!
Note: I find when cooking legs on indirect heat, I do not need to place tin foil over the bottom of the drumsticks. However you can certainly do that for the first 20-25 minutes if you choose.
Wishing you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving!
