Best Vegetables to Grill

Grilled vegetables make perfect side dishes for any meal. It enhances the natural flavors and it’s healthy.

The grill isn’t just for meat. Grilling vegetables can bring out the natural flavors in your favorite veggies, and it’s an easy, healthy side dish. So the next time that you heat up your grill, try grilling one of these vegetables.

Asparagus – Spray with oil, sprinkle with garlic and seasonings and place on the grill

Carrots – Slice lengthwise. Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with coarse salt, garlic powder and seasonings. Place on the grates, flip occasionally and grill until tender.

Corn – Pull back the husk and remove the silk. Butter and season the corn and fold the husk back over the corn. Place directly on the grill, turning occasionally.

Eggplant – Slice and place directly on the grill.

Endive – Slice off about half-inch of the tip and rinse the leaves (inside and out). Empty out the water. Slice the endive in half lengthwise and remove the core. Brush cut-side with olive oil and sprinkle with coarse salt and any seasonings. Place on the grates with the cut-side down and grill until tender and crisp.

Mushrooms – Large mushrooms, like portobello can be sliced and placed directly on the grill. Grill smaller mushrooms on the SABER grill griddle on skewers.

Onions – Slice and place directly on the grill.

Peppers – Bell peppers, jalapenos, sweet peppers and other hot peppers work well on the grill. Cut them in half and place directly on the grill.

Potatoes – Pierce the potatoes and grill whole directly on the grill. You can also grill slices  or wedges directly on the grates, or chop in thick chunks and grill on a grill griddle with a little butter or oil and spices.

Romaine Hearts – Slice off about half-inch of the tip and rinse the leaves (inside and out). Empty out the water. Slice Romaine in half lengthwise. Brush cut-side with olive oil and sprinkle with coarse salt and any seasonings. Place on the grates with the cut-side down and grill until tender and crisp.

Zucchini – Slice in half lengthwise and place directly on the grill.
