Do outdoor kitchen enclosures need additional ventilation?

SABER EZ Outdoor Kitchens do not need additional ventilation. Ventilation is built into the design so that it is ready to use with LP without any modification after converting to LP.

Custom built islands will need additional ventilation.

Additional Enclosure Construction Tips:

For LP cylinder enclosures that have four sides, a top and a bottom, you will want to take into consideration the following ventilation tips.
  • Have at least one ventilation opening on the exposed exterior side or rear of the enclosure located within five inches of the top of the enclosure and unobstructed. The opening(s) should have a total area of no less than one inch per pound stored fuel capacity (20 lb cylinder = 20 inches).
  • Have at least one ventilation opening on the exposed, exterior side or rear of the enclosure one inch or less from the floor level. Have a total free area of no less than 1/2 inch per pound of stored fuel capacity (20 lb cylinder = 10 inches).
  • Every opening should have a minimum dimension to permit the entrance of a 1/8 inch rod.
  • A two inch air gap must be provided between the bottom of the enclosure and the ground.
  • A door opening must be provided on the enclosure that will allow easy access to the remote LP cylinder. The cylinder valve on the LP cylinder must be readily accessible for hand operation. The LP cylinder must be positioned to allow leak checking of the cylinder, cylinder valve and regulator as they are attached to the grill.
